Age, vibration, thermal cycling, and constant use
that tear, dent, bend, and scratch take a toll on
our
vintage motorcycle sheet metal parts. Fenders get bent and broken, fork braces
and seat pans rust and crack, tool boxes, chain guards, and air filter housings
crack at their mounting points, foot pegs are regularly banged about. It is
probably easier and cheaper than you think to put these pieces back into good
mechanical and cosmetic condition.

Motor Sports can, in most situations, repair your aluminum or steel tank
to like new condition. Fuel tanks are a unique problem because there can
be
very real safety as well as cosmetic issues. Over time both steel and aluminum
can corrode to the point of developing leaks and should not be used again until
repaired. Mostly, though, they just get banged up and the once shiny finish,
whether paint or polish, deteriorates.
